Our founder, like everyone else, grew tired of the apps. What was once fun and interesting has become a time-consuming, frustrating process. He was ready to find his person and knew there had to be a better way. Through curiosity and a little research, he found matchmaking.

Matchmaking is not for the faint of heart. Currently, there aren’t a lot of options, and certainly not a lot of GOOD options. He found that matchmaking is extremely expensive and cost-prohibitive (for most people). Our founder’s journey began with high hopes in Denver, but he soon realized the limitations – there was no substantial local database (he went so far as to fly elsewhere for dates). Frustration set in, but it also sparked a realization: what if he could create something better, more accessible, and genuinely tailored to the needs of people like him? That lingering thought turned into a vision, and that vision became SHIFT.

He wanted to create a matchmaking company that broke the norms, one that was more affordable, focused on a database of Denver locals, no crappy blind dates, and with a social club aspect that wasn’t corny but instead fun and inviting…just as if you were out at your favorite bar with friends.
